DISHCLOTH (Using only knit and purl)

Cast on 41 stitches (using crochet cast on if you would like it to match the bind off edge).
Knit 6 rows garter stitch.
Knit 4 rows stockinette stitch.

GARTER BLOCKS PATTERN
Row 1 (RS): K7, *p7, k3; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12: K4, p33, k4.
Row 3: K7, *p7, k3; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 5: K7, *p7, k3; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 7: K7, *p7, k3; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 9: K4, p3, *k7, p3; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 11: K4, p3, *k7, p3; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Repeat rows 1-12 for desired length, ending on a row 8.

Then knit 2 rows stockinette stitch, knit 6 rows garter stitch.
Bind off.
