Knit-Purl Combinations: Pattern 6 - Diagonal Stitch 2

Knitting Stitch - Knit-Purl Combinations

Here's one of my favorite knit and purl combinations. It's reversible, making it a good choice for dishcloths, and blankets.

Knitting instructions:
Cast on: multiple of 6 sts.
Row 1: * Purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: * Purl 4, knit 2; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: Repeat row 1.
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Row 5: Knit 2, * purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * last 4 sts, purl 2, knit 2.
Row 6: Purl 2, * knit 2. purl 4; repeat from * last 4 sts, knit 2, purl 2.
Row 7: Repeat row 5.
Row 8: Repeat row 6.
Row 9: * Knit 4, purl 2; repeat from * to end.
Row 10: * Knit 2, purl 4; repeat from * to end.
Row 11: Repeat row 9.
Row 12: Repeat row 10.
Repeat rows 1-12 until you have reached your desired length.

    Mine looks more like a failed basket weave? Sure this pattern fits the picture?

    Row 1: Slip 1, purl 1, knit 4, * purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to end.
    Row 2: Slip 1, purl 3, knit 2, * purl 4, knit 2; repeat from * to end.
    Rows 3 - 4: Repeat rows 1 - 2.
    Row 5: Slip 1, knit 1, * purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * last 4 sts, purl 2, knit 2.
    Row 6: Slip 1, purl 1,, * knit 2. purl 4; repeat from * last 4 sts, knit 2, purl 2.
    Rows 7 - 8: Repeat rows 5 - 6.
    Row 9: Slip 1, knit 3, purl 2, * knit 4, purl 2; repeat from * to end.
    Row 10: Slip 1, knit 1, purl 4, * Knit 2, purl 4; repeat from * to end.
    Rows 11 - 12: Repeat rows 9 - 10.
