Two-color Honeycomb Stitch

Two-color honeycomb stitch creates a fabric with an interesting hexagonal mosaic structure.  What appears quite complicated is again quite simply achieved.
Material Used
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft (Soft Green and Chartreuse)
Needles: 4.5mm
Abbreviations
K: Knit.
P: Purl.
Sl: slip stitch purlwise with yarn in back.

Pattern
Multiples of 8, + 6.
Row 1 - RS: Color A, knit.
Row 2: Color A, knit.
Row 3: Color B, k2, * sl 2, k6; rep from *  to last 4 sts, sl 2, k2.
Row 4: Color B, p2, * sl 2, p6; rep from *  to last 4 sts, sl 2, p2.
Rows 5 to  8: Repeat Rows 3 and 4 twice more,
Row 9: Color A: knit.
Row 10: Color A: knit.
Row 11: Color B, k6, * sl 2, k6; rep from * to end.
Row 12: Color B, p6, * sl 2, p6; rep from * to end.
Rows 13 to 16: Repeat Rows 11 and 12 twice more.
Repeat Rows 1 - 16.
